Everything a district website needs, and nothing staff have to babysit.

Lumi covers the daily work of a district site, from the Monday lunch menu to the board meeting packet, in a way that keeps pages accessible and information current.

Editing that's hard to get wrong

Most district websites are kept up by people with other jobs. Lumi gives them panes instead of a blank page, and makes every change reversible.

  • A page editor built on panes: 28 reusable sections, including hero, news, events, tabs, columns, video, file attachments, supply lists and board meetings.
  • A drag-and-drop stack of panes with a side-by-side mobile preview of the page, and an Open in new tab link for the desktop view.
  • Drafts, publishing and revision history, plus scheduled expiration for news, jobs and pages so old posts take themselves down.
  • A page tree up to 3 levels deep, with navigation menus and sidebar navigation built from it automatically.
  • A site-wide header, ticker and footer, edited once and applied everywhere.
  • A media library with folders and tags, and rich text through Tiptap with inline video.

AI that works inside your rules

Lumi's AI features are built around the district's own content, panes and brand, and they are checked before anything reaches the public.

  • An AI page composer, powered by Claude, that turns a plain-language description into a page made from Lumi's panes.
  • Every AI draft is validated against the pane schemas and the accessibility rules: required alt text, correct heading order, descriptive link text and brand colors only.
  • Problems go back to the model for one corrective retry. A page that still fails can't be saved.
  • Image generation from the alt text the composer wrote.
  • An Ask assistant on every public page that answers from the district's own pages, with clickable source citations and live calendar data for questions about dates.
  • Ask is rate limited and logged, with an insights dashboard showing what families ask.

Information that keeps itself current

The pages families check most, like the calendar, the lunch menu and the staff directory, come from systems the district already uses.

  • Calendars with month, week, day and agenda views, synced from Google Calendar on a schedule, plus a subscribable .ics feed.
  • ADA-compliant breakfast and lunch menus built from reusable meal cards.
  • A staff directory synced automatically from Google Workspace, including titles, buildings and photos.
  • PDF accessibility fixing on upload, which sets the document language, the title and the tagged PDF markers.

Trust and operations

Lumi is run like production software, because for a district it is. Access is tied to district accounts, and the site is monitored and protected.

  • Google Workspace sign-in, locked to the district's domain, with separate admin and editor roles.
  • Pages are cached at the edge and purged the moment something is published.
  • Rate limiting, security logging, error monitoring and analytics.
  • Runs entirely on Cloudflare: Workers, D1, R2, KV and AI Search.
